“Don’t be like me, put some respect on your name, your thoughts, your opinions and YOUR VISION.”
In my post about consistency (read here) and its relation to social media in 2025 I went down my own content rabbit hole, and what I found was crazy. Look at this
Just in case you didn’t watch, that was a video of me in 2020 explaining audience preference in relation to the performance of your content. Did you peep the old title?
I’m sharing this because, often times I find myself in awe of my writing, and thought process when I revisit younger dabbling me. At the time I knew I loved content creation, video production, storytelling and the metrics behind the machine. I decided “I’m going to be a brand strategist”, and I began the work to become one. The title at the time came from another influencer who I admired.
I’m sharing this because while watching my older content I realized my advice hasn’t changed and the information is still relevant, but at the time I didn’t believe in myself and I didn’t respect my own voice. Don’t be like me, put some respect on your name, your thoughts, your opinions and YOUR VISION. My insecurity and fear of being judged made me stop pursuing my passion and business (creative marketing). If I kept going there is no telling what Elle Dove Media would look like today.
“…not respecting my own brand of genius stops today.”
It has taken me 4 years to emotionally grow out of that place and I still struggle.
Building confidence in business is essential if it doesn’t come natural to you. Personally I know that confidence is always going to be a muscle I have to work and build, but not respecting my own brand of genius stops today.
Let me know how you plan to show yourself, gifts and talents more respect. Tag me on IG www.instagram.com/elle.dove
